Dubai, Oct 31(ANI): Sri Lanka skipper Tillakaratne Dilshan has called for the use of the Umpire Decision Review System (UDRS) in all Test cricket.
Dilshan's comment comes after star batsman Kumar Sangakkara was adjudged lbw in their nine-wicket defeat against Pakistan in the second Test at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Sangakkara, batting on 30 in the second innings was given out by New Zealand umpire Tony Hill.
Since no UDRS was available in the series, Sri Lanka were unable to challenge the decision.
"I cannot comment over what went wrong on the decisions. I am very happy if the UDRS is there when the match is going 50-50, it is important to have it," the Nation quoted Dilshan, as saying.
"If bowlers and batsmen can get 100 percent correct decisions it is really good, especially in Test cricket we need UDRS," he added.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) had earlier this month ruled that the UDRS will no longer be mandatory in bilateral series and both the participating countries must agree to its use, a reversal of a decision made in June. (ANI)
