Dharamshala, Oct 26 (ANI): Tibetan Prime Minister-in-Exile Lobsang Sangay has conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the people of India on the occasion of Diwali.
Getting nostalgic about yesteryears, Sangay said that he would celebrate the festival in India after a gap of several years.
"Well, it will be my first Diwali in India and you know it is always good to celebrate Diwali, because there are a few days in the year when the night will be bright and Tibetans also have a similar day which we observe," he said.
"As a Tibetan born and brought up in India, I have celebrated Diwali for many times and since I have been in the U.S. for the last 16 years, this is my first Diwali since coming back from the U.S. So as we say in India, hearty greetings and joyous day, may all the aspirations and prayers of people around India be fulfilled," he added.
Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated to commemorate the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after completing 14 years of self-exile and killing Ravana. (ANI)
