Coimbatore, Oct 23(ANI): School students in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Saturday attempted a world record by making a candy mosaic with a message to create awareness about global warming.
The mosaic was based on the theme of "Global Warming" and they considered it as their social responsibility to create awareness about the harm caused by global warming.
While interacting with the mediapersons Sneha, a school student who participated, said that the task was undertaken in order to create awareness about the problems arising due to global warming.
"We students are here to create awareness by creating a candy mosaic as you see we children we all love candies so we have used about three lakh candies to create awareness of global warming," said Sneha.
This mosaic was created within six hours time and more than 300 students made this mosaic with the help of around 2,90,000 candies.
"It is not only the record it is also the awareness to the people, so it is 18 meter in length and 5.5 meter in breadth," said Maria, student participant.
A similar world record attempt was made in Italy last year with the help of around 900 students. They had made a 89 square meters mosaic and used only 2,00,000 candies. (ANI)
