Islamabad, Oct 20(ANI): Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has expressed his serious reservations over Interior Minister Rehman Malik's latest claim about uncovering a plot to abduct Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Zardari Bhutto in Karachi.
Earlier this month, Malik had said that al Qaeda and the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had hatched a conspiracy to abduct Bilawal.
Gilani expressed his reservations over Malik's statement while recently sharing a meal with some parliamentarians, the Dawn reports.
"I really cannot understand what prompted Mr Malik to pass such a statement to the media on a very sensitive issue. His only problem is that he always wants to be in headlines," Gilani was quoted as saying by one of his aides.
The prime minister further said that Malik had been advised to be careful while talking to media persons, but he did not listen to anybody.
However, Gilani was perturbed over his remarks about Bilawal's kidnapping plot, the aide said, adding that the prime minister also hinted that he would take up the issue with President Asif Ali Zardari. (ANI)
