New Delhi, Oct 17 (ANI): The results of the by-elections to the four seats in the country came as a jolt to the Congress Party as it failed to create its charisma and suffered a humiliating defeat.
In Hisar, Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) candidate Kuldeep Bishnoi, son of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, won the seat defeating his nearest rival Ajay Chautala of Indian National Lok Dal by more than 6323 votes. Congress Party came third in the polls.
In Bihar, the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) retained the Darounda assembly seat in Siwan District. JD-U candidate Kavita Singh defeated Parmeshwar Singh of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by over 20,000 votes.
Meanwhile, the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) alliance lost to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Shiv Sena combine in Maharashtra's Khadakwasla assembly.
