Team India physiotherapist John Gloster has decided not to renew his contract with the team after Australian tour.
Indian team physiotherapist John Gloster has decided not to continue his contract with the Indian board expressing his desire to quit from the post citing personal reasons.
According to BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah, "Gloster informed the board that he does not want to continue expressing his wish to give up.”
Gloster, who joined the Indian team in February 2005 after replacing Andrew Leipus, has been with the side for past three years. Before joining the Indian team, he was with the Bangladesh side for four years.
The revelation means that the ongoing Commonwealth Bank Series in Australia will be his last assignment and the Board will now have to look for a new physio for the home series against South Africa starting next month.
Gloster’s role has come under scanner off late after finding regular injuries to India's seamers particularly Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, RP Singh and Sreesanth.
It is also come into light that Gloster had also submitted a report last month to the Indian board revealing that the majority of national players are enforced to play the games carrying slight injuries since there is no time for them to either recuperate from that injuries or go thorough the rehabilitation process.
