Surat (Gujarat), Sep.10 (ANI): A large number of devotees praised miniatures of the great wonders of the world exhibited on the occasion of Ganesh Utsav here.
Ravi Kharadi, one of the organisers of the event, said every year a theme is assigned to the event
"This year, we have displayed the Seven Wonders of the World as well (along with the idols of Lord Ganesha) and children are coming to see them. The main objective behind this was to spread awareness about their history as well as their location. We want everyone to be aware about when were they made and in which country they are located. This is why we want to impart knowledge about them along with the ongoing celebrations (the festival). The festival of Lord Ganpati is very popular and everybody wants to catch a glimpse of him," said Kharadi.
Devotees enjoyed looking at the miniatures of Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, Taj Mahal of India, Great Wall of China, Mount Rushmore, Leaning tower of Pisa and the pyramids of Egypt.
"It was very different as we see the glimpse of Lord Ganpati. I like it. The god has also been made in a very good way. The idols of Ganesha are also good. In addition, the children get to know about the seven wonders (of the world) being displayed here and gain knowledge from it," said Roshni Modi, a devotee.
People pay obeisance in front of the huge idol of Lord Ganesha.he Ganpati festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm across India, particularly in the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and parts of Gujarat.
