New Delhi, Sep.9 (ANI): The heavy monsoon downpour caused a wall collapse on Friday and claimed the life of a minor girl in Delhi.
Chinki, 9, was going to catch her school bus, but died after a wall collapsed on her.
The collapsed wall was part of the boundary of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) hospital located in Gautam Colony of Delhi's Narela area.
While speaking to mediapersons, Chinki's bereaved mother Radda said nobody from the MCD had come.
According to media reports, three more girls are also trapped under the debris.
The rescue work is in progress whereas the locals have cordoned off the area and people have been asked to stay away from the hospital building.
The incessant rainfall created havoc on Friday in New Delhi and caused problems to locals as traffic went haywire due to water logging on many arterial roads in the city.
While many people were forced to be confined to their homes, others were seen on the streets stranded, along with their vehicles, at different locations across the city.
The monsoon this year has also caused heavy floods in several parts of north and central India, causing heavy devastation to life and property. (ANI)
