Gaya, Sep 3 (ANI): Two Maoists on the wanted list were arrested from their hideouts in Bihar's Gaya District on Friday.
Acting on a tip off, police arrested the Maoist zonal commander Roshan Ji alias Surendra Yadav and his associate from Mastipur village under Bodhgaya police station.
Police had information that the Maoist leader had plans of launching an attack in the near future.
According to police top brass, Yadav has had over decade long association with the rebels and had a cash reward of Rs. 25, 000 for anyone who provides information on him.
"They have been active since a very long time; they got associated with the party in 1990 and since then have been involved in expanding the party. They have also supervised and led many incidents of violence", said Vinay Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police.
He said Yadav had been involved in numerous cases of crime in the area.
"We have found their previous criminal cases, out of which 17 cases are before us. All are of serious nature like murder, extortion, writing, arms act ," he added. (ANI)
