Peshawar, August 25(ANI): Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has opposed military interference in Karachi and proposed governor's rule in Sindh.
Speaking to journalists during his visit to the Malik Saad Memorial Trust, Imran said that a politically non-aligned person should be made the governor of the Sindh province with a mandate to take action against all groups involved in the perpetual bloodshed.
"A new governor having no affiliation with any political party should be appointed and empowered to form a police force that does not support a political party," The News quoted the PTI chief, as saying.
"Police force then should be used to take action against terrorists. This strategy can restore peace in Karachi without involving military," he added.
Imran said he had always opposed military operations, whether they were conducted in Swat, Fata or Balochistan.
"Military operations do not offer a solution," he said. "It's like treating cancer with Disprin tablets, which may give a temporary relief from pain but cannot stop cancer from spreading."
The cricketer-turned-politician has been running the country's biggest cancer hospital in Lahore, and the above analogy showed his interest in both fields. (ANI)
