Gaya (Bihar), Aug 22 (ANI): While locals criticised state authorities for not providing adequate assistance to the diarrhoea-affected people, Maoists came to their rescue in Bihar's Gaya District.
The disease has spread through the remote areas, aggravated by heavy rains and poor sanitation levels.
The villagers said out that the authorities have not provided adequate medical facilities to the affected persons.
Moreover, they said that they were grateful to the members of Krantikari Kisan Committee (Revolutionary Peasants Committee), for providing medical assistance to them.
"The administration has not done anything. Nobody is caring about us. We live in hilly regions. People from the KCC have treated us. Otherwise, we were dying," Parmeshwar Bhokta, a villager.
"In Tiletand village, three persons have died due to diarrhoea. Some of them have died due to hunger and others have died due to diarrhoea. We do not have proper medical facilities. Due to the aid given by the Maoists, we have survived," he added.
The KCC is a faction of the outfit, Maoist Communist Centre (MCC). (ANI)
