New Delhi, Aug.20 (ANI): A nephew of civil rights activist Anna Hazare and the head of the monitoring committee for the UPA's flagship programs in Maharashtra, Vinayak S Deshmukh, is trying to bring the stalemate between the government and Hazare to an amicable solution.
"Congress is for the welfare of the people and the party's high command is also of the opinion that corruption should be brought to an end in the country," said Vinayak.
Hazare, the veteran Gandhian, began his anti-corruption crusade in April this year. His crusade has got massive support from people across the country and a few roadblocks from the ruling party.
"I think there has been a misunderstanding between the government and the Congress party. Both sides want the welfare of the people and I think in the next two to three days a solution to it could well be charted," said Deshmukh.e further added that Hazare has taken up this crusade for the benefit of the people and has always worked for the benefit of the people.
Vinayak after completing his education joined Anna Hazare. In 1994, he was appointed district youth congress president.
