London, Aug 18 (ANI): Indian cricket team is missing its injured premier pace bowler Zaheer Khan for the fourth and final Test against England at the Oval Cricket Ground, beginning today, admitted captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
"If you see the caliber of Zaheer Khan, then, you can say we have missed Zaheer Khan, because he has got plenty of experience and he can move the ball. He can plan a batsman out, and that is what important in these circumstances," Dhoni told reporters here on Wednesday.
Barring Rahul Dravid, the rest of the Indian batsmen have capitulated against England's penetrative bowling attack, failing to secure 300 runs in an innings in three successive matches.
"We are a side that is known for its batting. Of course, the bowlers have done very well for us. So I think priority will be to put runs on the board and then look to put pressure on the opposition's batting line up," Dhoni said.
Opener Virender Sehwag, who joined the team in the third Test due to injury, failed to open his account in both innings.
"If you see Virender Sehwag, irrespective of where he is playing, what the condition is, he plays his own game. He backs himself to play shots, and at times, you may get out," said Dhoni.
India arrived in England as the number one test team in the world, fresh from their 50-over World Cup victory on home turf, but the morale-sapping losses have now resulted in England taking over the top spot. By Praful Kumar Singh (ANI)
