The ace social activists and Anna Hazare has been sent to seven days judicial custody when he refused to sign a personal bond to come out on bail. Anna has been kept in the admission ward of jail number four. His aides namely Rajesh, Suresh pathare and Manish Sisodiya have also been lodged here.
Anna’a arrest has triggered countrywide protests. From North to South and East to West people are coming out of their homes to protest against the irresponsible move of the government. In Delhi alone, 1400 people have courted arrest. More than five thousand people are gathered at Chhatrasal stadium to protest against Anna’s custody. There is a wave of protests across country. In Mumbai, 900 persons had courted arrest till last reports came in. A large number of people are protesting in Azad Maidan. There were report of protest against Anna’s custody from major Indian cities like Chandigarh, B’lore, Ahmedabad, Jammu, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Chennai, Patna, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Allahabad and Bhopal.
