Oslo, Aug 9 (ANI): The Norwegian terrorist Anders Behring Breivik was under the influence of drugs when he carried out twin attacks on July 22.I can confirm that he had used illegal drugs. I do not want to comment on what kind of products, but he had consumed some," the New York Post quoted police prosecutor Paal-Fredrik Hjor Kraby, as saying.
Hjor Kraby said the conclusion was based on blood test results.
"It's obvious he used steroids, but he also used other drugs, which I don't want to elaborate on," he said.
In his, 1,500-page manifesto posted online shortly before carrying out the attacks, Breivik said he had been using anabolic steroids.
Breivik's lawyer, Geir Lippestad, earlier said his client had used drugs to keep him 'strong, efficient and awake' as he bombed government offices in Oslo then went on a shooting rampage on the nearby island of Utoya.
The police prosecutor also said that the two psychiatrists appointed to evaluate Breivik's mental state in order to determine if he is fit to stand trial and can be held accountable had begun their work.
They are scheduled to hand over their report by November 1, the paper said. (ANI)
