United Nations, July 30(ANI): The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has put the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on its international anti-terrorism sanctions list in a move highlighting the growing threat from the group.
The TTP has been blamed for several terrorist attacks in Pakistan and has also been linked to an attempted bombing in Times Square in New York last year.
Britain's UN Ambassador Mark Lyall Grant welcomed the addition of the TTP to the counter-terrorism list.
"It sends a powerful signal of the international community's solidarity and resolve in the fight against the TTP and international terrorism," the Daily Times quoted Grant, as saying. (ANI)
