Washington, July 27 (ANI): George Clooney feels duty-bound to indulge in charity work in war-worn Sudan, after feeling disgusted with the extravagance of the Oscar campaigns.
Clooney claims to have been left feeling 'unclean' after the glamorous Hollywood awards.
"I had just come out of Oscar season, and you really do campaign, like kissing babies. By the time it's over, you sort of feel unclean. You want to do something that makes you feel better," Contactmusic quoted him as telling the Los Angeles times.
The 50-year-old American actor admitted to turning to work with the United Nations towards the betterment of African nations in 2005 after the flattering world of Tinsel town left him uneasy. There is more attention on celebrity than ever - and there is a use for that besides selling products. We can't make policy, but we can 'encourage' politicians more than ever before," he added. (ANI)
