New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): Foreign secretaries of India and Pakistan-Nirupama Rao and Salman Bashir-on Tuesday said they were looking forward to their deliberations with an open mind and would chalk out an agenda for the foreign ministers of the two countries-S.M.Krishna and Hina Rabbani Khar-to discuss on Wednesday.
Interacting with mediapersons ahead of their talks, Rao and Bashir said that they had had fruitful discussions in Islamabad last month, and were both looking forward to taking bilateral discussions and confidence-building measures agreed upon forward.
Rao and Bashir are expected to finalise the agenda for Wednesday's talks.
Rao said: "This is essentially a preparatory meeting before the foreign minister's meeting tomorrow. I am looking forward to these discussions after last month's meeting in Islamabad."
Bashir said that the work stated by them needs to be carried on effectively.
"We are working towards establishing peace between both the countries," he said.
Bashir added that the effort on both the sides was to deepen understanding.
Striking a positive note ahead of the talks, Bashir, on Monday, said Islamabad would extend all required cooperation to India on the terror issue and share related information.
According to the Times Now channel, both foreign secretaries are expected to discuss confidence-building measures, concerns on terror and steps to enhance people-to-people contacts. (ANI)
