Etah, July 7 (ANI): At least 33 people were killed and 17 others injured when a train rammed into a bus at an unmanned crossing in Uttar Pradesh's Etah District on Thursday.
The accident took place in Kanshiramnagar at around 2 a.m when the train was on its way from Mathura to Chapra in Bihar.
The ill-fated bus was carrying a marriage party.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressed extreme grief over the loss of life and announced ex-gratia relief of Rs two lakhs for the kin of each person killed, Rs 50,000 each for the seriously injured and Rs 10,000 each for those with simple injuries.
He also ordered the Railway Safety Commissioner to launch an inquiry into the accident. (ANI)
