Tehran, July 6 (ANI): Iran has testfired two surface-to-sea missiles successfully as part of its war games in the Persian Gulf.
The two missiles were testfired 'successfully' and hit the pre-planned targets, the state IRIB TV website reports.
According to Xinhua, the short-range missiles, 'Tondar' and 'Persian Gulf', were tested in the vicinity of Jask.
The new missiles have been designed to target ships and forces at sea. They can hit both stable and moving targets in the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh had earlier said that supplying advanced equipment was aimed at increasing "Iran's defensive and deterrence power" in order to "maintain the stable security of the strategic area of the Persian Gulf.
