Vijay Kumar of Delhi has been elected as one of the joint secretaries of the Ball Badminton Federation of India (BBFI) in its annual general body meeting held recently at the Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium, Warangal, in Andhra Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh's Mahesh Joshi and AS Naqvi of Rajasthan have been unanimously elected as the President and General Secretary of the BBFI for the next four-year term.
Jagjit Singh Chauhan (Haryana), S Murlidharan (Kerala), TSR Sastri (AP) and SS Chima (Punjab) are the four elected Vice-Presidents while Abdul Wahab of Rajasthan will be the Treasurer of BBFI.
Apart from Delhi's Vijay Kumar, Wasiullah Khan of Uttar Pradesh, Arti Dadhi (Maharashtra) and PS Thakur (Chattisgarh) have also been nominated as joint secretaries.
K Nanu of Kerala alongwith Andhra's P Tulsidas have been appointed as Chief Referee and Dy. Chief Referee respectively of newly formed BBFI.
Raghunath Pillai of Kerala has been chosen as the Chairman Referee Board while Rajasthan's Maqsood Bulland, D Raja of Tamil Nadu and Hemant Kumar of Chattisgarh are the other three members of the Board.
Hyderabad's LA Iqbal will be the selection committee chairman while his statemate V Kamalakar Reddy, MD Vasudevan (TN), Murli Krishna (Jharkhand) and GV Vasu of Andhra are the other members of selection committee. Karnataka's SM Raju will look after BBFI's public relation department.
A tournament committee has also been formed to organise various tournaments in the coming years. PS Lamba of Chandigarh will head the committee alongwith Ashok Sharma, Prakash Bapat (MP) and Ravi Dhangar of Chattisgarh.
Meanwhile, the newly elected body of BBFI has also announced its annual calendar. The yearly events will kick-off with the 54th Senior National championship in the first week of May at Chennai.

• 3rd Mini Mixed Double National at Chennai from May 2 to May 4, 2008.

• 54th Junior National at Sangali (Maharashtra) in December, 2008.
• 31st South Zone Championship at Vijayawada (AP) in June, 2008.
• 29th East Zone Championship at Bhubneshwar (Orissa) in October, 2008.
• 29th West Zone Championship at Indore (MP) in May, 2008.
• 29th North Zone Championship at Gudganwa (Haryana) in June, 2008.
• Federation Cup Ball Badminton Championship at Kolkata (WB) in January, 2009.
