New Delhi, June 13 (ANI): Hours after the civil society activists wrote a letter to the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, demanding his inclusion in the Lokpal Bill, the Congress Party took on Anna Hazare, saying that he is speaking the script of those outfits, which are working behind him.
"His remarks are turning very strong and violent, violence in the language. It seems that he is not speaking his own language, instead he is speaking the script of those outfits which are working behind him," said Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari.
Tiwari also criticized Hazare for boycotting the Lokpal panel meet on June 6, and said that he should involve in talks with government rather than boycotting meetings.If you have faith on your tolerance level, then you take the option of discussion, make your ideas clear by discussing with the government. The government was not saying that it will not talk with him," said Tiwari.
"There is a separate panel and you are a member of the committee. If there are any strong points in your side, if you are confident of your points, then implement it with the government," he added.
Activists led by Anna Hazare in their letter to the Prime Minister said: "You are one of the most honest Prime Ministers that the country has had. As of today, the Prime minister is covered under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Under that law, any allegation against the PM can be investigated."
"As of today, the investigations are done by the CBI, which is directly under the control of the Prime Minister rather than being investigated by an agency under his control, let the PM be investigated by an independent agency like the Lokpal," the letter adds.
RTI crusader Arvind Kejriwal told reporters that the Prime Minister himself had earlier said he will have no problem in being under Lokpal, but his ministers are saying otherwise.
"Is there a disconnect between them," he asked.
Anna Hazare had earlier written a three-page letter to Sonia Gandhi, and said that her party leaders and ministers were "telling lies" to defame him.
Hazare also said that the politicians are trying to mislead people on issues.
"I request you to ensure that responsible leaders from your party should not resort to character assassination and mislead people on the Lokpal Bill," Hazare wrote in the letter.
"If the Congress party has any concrete evidence, please make it public," he added.
He also criticized Congress General Secretary Janardhan Dwivedi for his statement that the social activist was a "mask" of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
"If the responsible leaders in the party and government resort to spreading lies, it is not good for the future of the country. Many senior leaders in your party have said that I am a mask of BJP and RSS," Hazare wrote.
"In the 73 years of my life, I have never gone close to any party or front because there is corruption everywhere," he added. (ANI)
