Baba Ramdev's condition unsatisfactory: Doctors

Haridwar, June 9 (ANI): Doctors, who examined Baba Ramdev here on Thursday, described his condition to be unsatisfactory and asked the yoga guru to consume food and water before his health deteriorates further.

 

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Yogesh Sharma, who was accompanied by other health officers, after Ramdev's check-up told mediapersons that there are concerns over his health.

 

"The condition of Swami Ramdev is dissatisfactory and his weight has come down to 58 kilograms from 60 kilograms. His weight is around 58.5 kilograms and we have found symptoms of dehydration and the water content in his body is less," he said after examining Ramdev at the Patanjali Yogpeeth here.

 

Dr. Sharma further said they have asked the yoga guru to consume food and water before his health deteriorates further.

 

"In this state, we request him to eat or drink something. We have suggested to him to immediately consume something, otherwise his health could deteriorate further,"e added.

 

The doctors also examined Ramdev's key aide Balakrishna, and said that he had also lost one kilogram.

 

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj, who met Ramdev here on Wednesday said: "I have come here as the leader of opposition. The government has forgotten its duties. I have no objective in sharing stage with Ramdev. The nation is concerned about Ramdev's health. Baba is working on a stir plan and his agitation is for the country."

 

Ramdev was on a hunger strike against corruption along with 65,000 followers when the police on the government's orders dismantled the elaborate camp late on Saturday night that had been set up at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan. (ANI)
