New Delhi, June 6 (ANI): Hours after a man tried to attack party general secretary Janardhan Dwivedi with a shoe, Congress Party on Monday condemning the incident said the act reflected the ideologies of Hindu-nationalist and right wing parties like the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"Well, what we have seen today is the ugly face of fascism, the ugly face of RSS ideology, the ugly face of the training, which the RSS gives to these people, who believe in violence and is highly condemnable," said Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh.
"This kind of an attitude and behaviour in a press conference in a party's office would ultimately lead to the discredit of the media by itself," he added.
Digvijay Singh also praised Dwivedi for showing his patience and cool temper during the incident.
A shoe was brandished at Congress General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi during a press conference earlier in the day.
The shoe was shown by Sunil Kumar, who was carrying an identification of Nav-Sanchar Patrika from Rajasthan. (ANI)
