Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza combining well with old hand Mahesh Bhupathi scored an emphatic 6-4, 6-2 straight set convincing win over French-Israeli pair Andy Ram and Nathalie Dechy to enter into the mixed doubles finals of the Australian Open tournament in Melbourne on Thursday.
The Indian duo came out with some fine serve and volley game against their 8th seeded French-Israeli pair who could not match up to their opponents. The Indian pair will now meet the winners of Tiantian Sun/Nenad Zimonjic and Zi Yan/Mark Knowles semi-final.
Meanwhile in the boys’ singles competition, India’s Yuki Bhambri lost 0-6 7-5 1-6 to local favourite Bernard Tomic in the semifinals.
