Mumbai, Apr 14 (ANI): Kochi Tuskers Kerala skipper Mahela Jayawardene has said that they should have been more conscious and alert against Pune Warriors, and added that he has full confidence that his team will fight back in the rest matches of the Indian Premier League.
In an exciting match, Pune Warriors secured a four wicket victory against Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the ongoing IPL cricket tournament in Mumbai on Wednesday.
"Both the games now I thought, we came very close but it is not enough to get close. I think we need to finish games off. That is very critical in 20-20, something we spoke about.
"We batted really well at the end after losing wickets, guys took some chances and that paid off. We have to re-group and come back strongly in next game," he said.
Till now Kochi Tuskers have lost two of their matches.
With speculations doing the round that Sri Lankan players have been asked to come back to their country to gear up for the upcoming tournament against England, Jayawardene said that nothing is finalized yet, but whenever things will be finalized, they would have to go back.
"We have not been still informed. They are still talking about this. As players whatever they tell us we have to go ahead with it and once they finalise and let us know exactly when they want us to come, then I think we need to get back," he added.
If the Sri Lankan players leave in the midway of the tournament, than it will be a great setback to many franchisees, since these players constitute an important part to the teams.
Players who could be called back from the tournament are Kumar Sangakkara- captain of Deccan Chargers, Jayawardene, Tillakartne Dilshan, Lasith Malinga and Suraj Randiv.
