Ranchi, Apr 7 (ANI): Maoists have killed a general manager of Reliance Power and critically injured another corporate official in a forest area in Jharkhand's Chatra District.
According to reports, the bullet fired by the ultras penetrated the chest of the deceased named Manoj Ojha, who was General Manager in Reliance Power, while Haren Buch, the Additional Vice-President of the same organization got severe bullet injury in his abdomen during the incident.
K. K. Pandey, a relative of Ojha, said he got the news, while he was on the way to Hazaribagh.
"I was on the way to Hazaribagh then somebody telephoned me that did you see the news, he (Manoj Ojha) has died. Then I turned my vehicle and came back. Actually first I was informed that he has been admitted in a Sadar hospital," said Pandey.
He further informed they had gone to a place with the company's Vice President Buch, reportedly to inspect a land for a proposed power plant.
"They went to see some land for mines. So, when they were coming back, they were shot dead during an encounter by MCC wing. So, what will the government and the administration do in this matter? There is no question of security here, someday if you (reporter) are targeted, what will you do?" said Pandey.
Reliance Power is building a 3,960 MW plant in Barhi, Hazaribagh, at an estimated Rs. 20,000 crore, and has been allotted coal blocks in Keredari, close to the attack site. (ANI)
