Chennai, Mar 31 (ANI): Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, said Thursday sport and diplomacy should not be clubbed.
She was commenting on the meeting held between the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan on the sidelines of Wednesday's World Cup semi-final at Mohali.
"Sport should remain a sport and should be separated from dialogue and diplomacy," Swaraj told reporters, while responding to a question on the government's cricket diplomacy with Islamabad.
Swaraj further said players of both teams were under immense pressure and the presence of top leaders only added to it.
Swaraj, who will be campaigning for the BJP candidates in Coimbatore and Tirupur, released a campaign CD of the party, which is contesting the April 13 Tamil Nadu assembly polls independently.
A total of 2,773 candidates will contest for seats in 234 Tamil Nadu Assembly constituencies. The deadline for the withdrawal of nominations ended Wednesday evening. (ANI)
