Kochi (Kerala), Mar. 12 (ANI): Residents in Kochi have complained vociferously about poor drinking water facilities, and warned that it could be a major issue when determining who they will vote for in next month's state assembly elections.
"Here, during the election time, we get more water. But, as far as southern areas are concerned, this issue has not started yesterday or today. Most of the people here are poor who go to Eranakulam or such places for work. If the situation is continuing, we could take strong action," said Saritha, a villager.
The state government has introduced many drinking water projects, but none of them have been successful.
Dinesh Mani, a social activist, said the main aim of the state government should be to solve the water problem in the region.
Kerala goes to polls on April 14. (ANI)
