Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 8 (ANI): The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) is expected to take a final call here today to decide whether Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan should be fielded for the upcoming April 13 assembly polls to lead the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF).
The CPI-M Politburo and the Central Committee had recently authorised the party state committee to prepare the list of prominent leaders who should contest the polls.
According to reports, CPI-M State Secretariat would discuss the issue first and form its opinion, which would be presented to the state committee later in the day for taking the final decision.
CPI (M) General Secretary Prakash Karat and Politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai are attending the meetings representing the central leadership.
Chief Minister Achuthanandan has made it clear that he is all set to lead LDF once again if the party entrusted him with the charge.
He had earlier on March 4 said that there was no crisis in the Left Democratic Front (LDF) on seat allocation as projected by some quarters. (ANI)
