This ultra portable laptop with mobile internet computing experience is a gift from HCL, the leading electronic, computing and information technology company.
This laptop exclusively designed for Indian consumer will be available from January 26. Now it will be a dream come true for thousands of Indians as MiLeap comes at an affordable price.
Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman and Chief Executive, HCL Infosystems launched the MiLeap series in Delhi.
He said, “MiLeap will be the future of computing. It will herald in a new category of computing devices, opening up a wide range of new usage scenarios and application areas.”
“HCL is proud of its heritage of leading the technology revolution in India. With a legacy of having pioneered India’s first micro-computer, the country’s first desktop PC and the first home PC, at HCL it’s always been our endeavour to create technologies that touch lives,” he added.
Developed on the Ultra Mobile platform this affordable range of leaptop runs on a Cleron 400 MHz processor and has a 512 MB DDR II RAM. This however does not have hard disk drive but additional option to integrate a hard disk with extra cost. The leaptop is preloaded with Linux operating system.
This model comes with a 7 inch screen; Wi-Fi enabled and comes with two USB port, one LAN port and one card reader. The company has intended to make available the leaptop in two series, X and Y.
As per the company source, the X series would be available at Rs 13,990 and the Y Series will start from Rs 29,990. The Y Series with a Swivel 7-touch screen would provide additional navigational features.
Considering the growth of Indian laptop market and the number of PC users this product certainly brings a best option for consumers and also creates a great space of competition for other technological giants both domestic and foreign to develop such products.
