London, Feb 28 (ANI): 'The King's Speech,' was the clear favourite at the 83rd Academy Awards as the Anglo-Australian film won best picture and three other Oscars.
The film is based on the life of the King George VI-the royal who led Britain in World War II and the father of current monarch Queen Elizabeth-played by Colin Firth as a shy man with a crippling stutter.
The movie entered the ceremony at the Kodak Theatre with a leading 12 nominations.
The period film also won Best Actor, Best Director and Original Screenplay at the Oscars.
