India vie for the 3rd position when they clash against Great Britain tomorrow at the ongoing FINTRO World Hockey League Semi-Final 2015
Antwerp (Belgium), 04 July 2015: Indian Men team are all set to clash against Great Britain as both the teams will look at settling for the 3rd position during the FINTRO World Hockey League Semi-Final 2015. Playing for the Final berth yesterday, India lost to Belgium 0-4 and will now be playing the classification match tomorrow here at Antwerp.
Speaking on tomorrow's clash, Captain Sardar Singh said “We committed mistakes yesterday and which cost us the match. For tomorrow we will aim not to repeat them against Great Britain. Our penalty corner conversions have to come right and we have to ensure that we capitalise on them. Also while we are confident of breaking their defence, we also need to cash in on the opportunities that get created once we enter the opponent's semi circle.”
Speaking on tomorrow's clash, Chief Coach, Paul van Ass said “The team is aware of the loopholes in the match against Belgium. They know they have to rectify it and come back strong. The plan for tomorrow is to keep it simple and capitalise on the opportunities. Also we cannot afford to give away easy goals and we have to ensure we close the gaps.”
India will play the 3rd / 4th position match Great Britain on 5th July 2015 at 7.00 pm (IST) in the FINTRO Hockey World League Semi-Final 2015. The matches will be telecasted LIVE on Star Sports.
