New Delhi, 26 June 2015: Before entering the quarter final of the FINTRO Hockey World League Semi- Final 2015, the India Women Hockey Team are looking forward to take on the Australian eves tomorrow. With both the sides showcasing much agility packed with on-field skills, India and Australia will be seen contesting a very crucial match tomorrow.

India made an impressive comeback post defeating Poland by 3-1 as they produced a rampant display of stick skills to claim their first win in Pool B of the tournament. The Indian girls started their campaign on a disappointing note by losing a hard fought match against Belgium 0-1. Also, beaten by New Zealand 0-5 in their second outing, India now aims to put in their best efforts so as to perk up their performance in the upcoming match.

The two teams met earlier during the Hawke's Bay Cup 2015 in New Zealand where India proved their mettle and held Australia to a goalless draw and in Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games where India lost to Australia 2-4. Keeping the track record of both the teams in mind, tomorrow's match will be a nail biter as both the teams have given a tough fight to each other whenever they have met.

It will be interesting to see a match between the two teams where India will be seen unleashing all the weapons with an aim to repeat their performance against Poland. All eyes in the tomorrow's match will be set on Rani as she has displayed brilliant passing skills and scored two crucial goals in India's triumph over Poland.

Where both the teams are in splendid form, India and Australia will now carry the same energy and look at giving a tough fight to each other.

Anticipating a clash against Australia, India Captain, Ritu Rani said, “We are happy that we won our last match against Poland. Our performance was up to the mark and now we know that we have to focus on taking crucial passes as this enables keeping possession on the ball and moving further towards the opponents defence wall. We are geared up as a team and hope to give a tough fight to Australia in the tomorrow's match.”

Commenting ahead of the tomorrow's clash against Australia, Chief Coach Mathias Ahrens said, “The girls performed really well in the match against Poland. We aim for a better penalty corner conversion rate and make our attack even stronger in the next match against Australia. We have been working on our passes and tackles and we are confident of a good match tomorrow.”

The FINTRO Hockey World League Semi-Final 2015 will witness the Indian eves taking on Australia on 27th June 2015 at 21.30 IST. The matches will be telecasted LIVE on Star Sports.
