The Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences (CIRBSc) invites application for new course M.Sc. (Biophysics) on offer for the academic session 2015-16. This course will help to establish a vibrant teaching and research centre comprising interdisciplinary area in Basic Science and Applied Life Sciences.
The main emphasis of Biophysics is on the quantitative analysis of the physical and chemical aspects of the functions of biological molecules, organisms and entitles. The techniques and methodologies that biophysics relies on are closer to Physics and Chemistry, but areas of application are in the biological, medical and related sciences.
The programme is meant to equip Master's Degree students with the ability to conduct independent research, scientific and industrial activity in research institutions, as well as teaching in specialized secondary and higher educational institutions and prepare personnel in such priority areas as health-related biotechnologies, nonlinear sciences, molecular biology, genomics and proteomics, cellular biotechnologies, regulatory processes, immunology, bioinformatics and mathematical modeling of biological processes.
The eligibility of the course is 3-year B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Biochemistry or Microbiology having minimum 55% marks and have studied compulsorily Mathematics in +2 level.
