New Delhi, 10 April 2015: After successfully opening their winning account in their previous clash against Canada at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2015, the Indian Men Hockey Team is looking forward to their next match against Australia on the Malaysian ground. Having concluded the previous three matches with 1 win, 1 draw and 2 losses, the Indian men are gearing themselves for the battle tomorrow and aim to settle themselves at a steady position.
The opponents last had an interesting face off during the Hero Hockey Champions Trophy 2014, where the Australians managed to get an edge over the Indian team with a score 2-1. Prior to that, the teams also met in the India Australia series in the latter's home ground where India won the series leaving the World Champions stunned and wounded.
Being aware of the excellent performance of the opponent team in this ongoing tournament, the Sardar Singh led Indian team, under the excellent guidance of Chief Coach Paul van Ass aims to put in extra efforts and best game strategies to proclaim another victory for themselves. The Australian team on the other hand already having maintained a winning performance in all the previous matches played will get on the ground to continue with the consistency and assure the best position for themselves in the tournament.
Talking about the upcoming tough clash, Indian Captain Sardar Singh said, “The team is feeling motivated after the win against Canada yesterday. While beating them will be tough but we are confident on our clash against them. We will play an attacking game and maintain the pressure on them. We will ensure we do not repeat our mistakes and not allow them to score easy goals”.
Speaking on the sidelines of the preparations, Indian Chief Coach Paul van Ass said, “The team is confident about facing the opponents in the best possible manner. Winning against the Australian team will be an achievement for sure and our players are working towards it with great zeal and enthusiasm. We aim to gain another victory which will help us to conclude the tournament with a better position for the team."
The 24th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup at Malaysia will be played from 5 - 12 April 2015 and six teams will be seen fighting it out for the title. India will play their next game against Australia at 13:40 HRS IST on 11 April 2015.
