Badhgaon (Chhattisgarh), Jan 21 (ANI): Maoists killed a villager in Badhgaon under Chhattisgarh's Kanker district on Thursday.
The body of Ramsu was found lying on the outskirts of Badejharkatta village with a poster stuck on his clothes.
According to the poster, the Maoists accepted that they had committed the crime and accused Ramsu of being a police informer. They also threatened villagers with similar consequences if they supported the administration.
Villagers accused the police of leaving the body unattended for several hours despite being informed about the incident. Local police officials however denied the allegation.
Badhgaon police station in-charge, Nawal Mandawi said that officials were sent immediately to the site after the incident was reported.
"We came to know that a body with a poster on it has been found in Badejharkatta road. We asked the relatives of Ramsu to go and identify the body and the police officials have also gone with them. The note on the body suggests that the crime was committed by the Maoists," said Mandawi. (ANI)
