Glasgow: 20th Commonwealth Games begin at Celtic Park

In a colorful and impressive function, the 20th Commonwealth Games kicked off at C eltic Park in Glasgow. It has been said that more than 40,000 people were present during the occasion when the spectacular opening ceremony war organised.

Amid the much of suspense and excitement, he British Queen Elizabeth II declared the Games open after more than two hours of colourful ceremony. The impressive and colortul ceremony was presented by some 2,000 cast members and 4,500 athletes from 71 nations and territories.

The major event which is all set to witness that 71 nations in 17 sports over the next 11 days which will be enough to recall you a complete game and sports environment around you.

A lot of global celebrities joined thousands of local talent to bring a unique and colorful opening of the commonwealth games.

It has been said that the spectacular was watched by a stadium audience of 40,000 and television viewers of an estimated 1 billion in 71 Commonwealth nations and territories.

For India side, the London Olympics silver medallist Vijay Kumar proudly carried the tri-colour with Indian contingent. The players' parade was led by India, by the virtue of being the previous hosts.
