Bhubaneswar, 12 December 2014: With the semi-final matches slated between titans Germany vs Australia and arch rivals India vs Pakistan, the hockey fans at Kalinga Stadium were desperately seen trying to get hold of tickets for tomorrow. The second session for tomorrow which will feature the semi-final clashes was completely sold out in the morning hours itself and the crowd was seen standing in front of the ticket counter still trying their luck to buy tickets.
Speaking on the tickets getting sold out, Mr. Md. Mushtaque Ahmad, Secretary General Hockey India said "The crowd wanted to watch India Pakistan match and here we are with it. I am sure the hockey fans tomorrow will get a real treat seeing Pakistan and India fighting it out for a finale berth. And this will be not only for spectators sitting here at the stadium but fans across the world will be watching it LIVE. While, yes the India Pakistan match is a craze but we have been seeing full house stadium from day 1 of the tournament and this shows the craze that the people here have for this game".
The semi-final day will commence with play offs for the 5-8 placement matches, with the first semi-final getting underway at 17:15 hrs local time at Bhubaneswar's Kalinga Stadium.
The semi-finals will take place on Saturday 13th December with the running order as follows (local time - UTC/GMT +5.30):
5th - 8th 11:30 Belgium v Netherlands
5th - 8th 13:45 England v Argentina
SF 1 17:15 Germany v Australia
SF 2 19:30 India v Pakistan
