Russia's Defense Ministry has reportedly revealed that two 'ballistic missiles' have been detected in the Mediterranean while United States has denied the report of attack on Syria.
The under attack Syria is situated near the Mediterranean Sea adjacent to Iraq, Jordan, Israel and Lebanon.
According to the Defense Ministry spokesman, the missile launch was detected at 06:16 GMT by a radar in the southern Russian city of Armavir, and is said to strike somewhere between the central and eastern Mediterranean, Russian News agency RiaNovosti reported.
It added that Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu had reported the launch to President Vladimir Putin.
However, the Russian Embassy in the Syrian capital Damascus said it did not have any information about the launch.
The source and location of the launch of the two missiles is still unknown.
The United States has denied the rumors of attacking on Syria by stating that it has not projected any missile towards Mediterranean while Syria itself has denied the detection.
On the other hand, there is also a rumour that the detected ballistic objects fell into the sea.
Earlier, President Barack Obama had indicated military strike against Syria as Syrian President reportedly breeched the international treaty by using chemical attack over its own citizens.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Obama has enlisted two powerful Republican senators to help in his effort to win congressional support to carry out a military strike on Syria.
