To celebrate its 15th birthday celebration, Google has displayed an impressive interactive doodle based on a Mexican pinata.
The doodle comes from a basic video game that challenges the user to release as many virtual sweets as possible by thwacking a star-shaped pinata with a stick and forms part of the search giant's birthday celebration.
According to the Independent, the search giant's birthday celebration has also seen the search engine create 'Google in 1998', a look at how the website looked in its launch year.
Google was originally called BackRub, based in a Menlo Park garage, and founded by PHD students Larry Page and Sergey Brin as part of a research project.
According to sources, Google's actual birth date is a topic of debate, with some analysts saying September 7 as a more accurate date when the website may have been incorporated, while others believe that September 15, when the domain name Google.com was first registered should be the appropriate date.
However, the reason for Google celebrating its birthday on 27 September appears to stem from an argument the search engine had with Yahoo in 2005 over their respective size and growth rate, the report added.
