India's largest private lender ICICI Bank Tuesday introduced an innovative service to its massive customer base who are Facebook addicts by launching a Facebook app 'Pocket' that will allow the users to use its various services like split n share, pay a friend, recharge prepaid mobiles, book movie tickets and many more on Facebook.
Viewing the popularity of Facebook in India, ICICI Bank has launched this trendy technique for its youth customers. There are 82 millions Facebook users in India in which over 40% users are below 30-years of age.
With this new app, ICICI Bank allows its customers to use several banking services while enjoying social media on internet and mobile.
Speaking on this occasion, ICICI Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Chanda Kochchar said that there would be no additional charge for using this app.
The user can reach it to over internet by typing Facebook.com/icicibank and clicking on pockets by ICICI tab to access the service. After going to on 'Pockets by ICICI Bank', you will have to register yourself with this app to use this service.
Besides transactions service, user can also carry out a wide range of non-financial transactions includes viewing a summary as well as a mini statement of savings bank account, knowing credit card details and getting demat holding statements. Through this app, a customer can open fixed or recurring deposit, order a cheque book, stop a cheque payment and upgrade debit card etc.
