Varun Bahl presents his collection 'Flight' at Delhi Couture Week 2013 Day 3

Ace designer Varun Bahl marked his presence in the PCJ Delhi Couture Week with his Fall 2013 Haute Couture Collection entitled 'Flight' to represent India's rich hand-embellishments, embroidery techniques and fantastical textiles.

Varun in his collection mixed his signature embroideries with modern silhouettes, redefining the concept of embellishment that made it more accessible and desirable for the contemporary Indian woman.

Besides focusing on bridal wear, Varun's collection also showcased beautiful collections for bride's family also which was a unique part of his show. Apart from that, he experimented with the apparels quite intelligently and replaced sari-gown with cocktail drape and converted anarkali dress to a daywear option.

Inspired by the exotic birds and their habitat, the ace designer used winter pastels like pale blue, dust pink, powdered moss and luminous tones like ochre, fuchsia and red to complete the offering.

Moreover, Bahl's collection ranged from traditional to cutting edge: silk, chiffon, georgette, wool-crepe, bubble-crepe and canvas that came together with diaphanous guaze, organza, and silk net to create garments everlasting in style and design.

Varun Bahl in his collection explored the textural contrasts between different weights and compositions of fabrics to bring his vision to life. he used different fabrics in his apparels which included bubble crepe, silk, organza, raw silk, silk georgette, tulle, silk net, wool crepe and silk velvet.
