The 19th edition of the popular annual exposition of the world books and publishers and distributors, the Delhi Book Fair is all set to start from the 23rd August at Pragati Maidan. Pratip Kumar, Central Vigilance Commission will inaugurate the Fair in Hall no.8 at Pragati Maidan.
Delhi Book Fair is going to attract over 250 participants from India and abroad. The overseas participants are from China and USA. The Indian participants apart from Delhi are from places like Agartala, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Meghalaya etc.
The fair provide a unique platform for business to business transactions and establishing new contact entering into co publishing arrangements, transactions and copyrights arrangements as well as reprinting of old and rare books.
The visitors profile at the fair ranges over national and international publishers librarians, researchers, academicians, writers and students.
The theme of the fair this year is “ Libraries and Readership” which will focus on the role of libraries in the growth of readership Public Libraries play key role in propagating better book reading habits. The National Knowledge Commission set up by the Prime Minister in its report to the nation made recommendations on libraries and in pursuance of this.
There will be various seminars and conferences during the show and various scholars and academicians in the book fair will follow it.
