Known for her trendy style, ace designer Monisha Jaisingh this time along with her signature collection of sexy minis and beaded gowns came out with her exclusive Indian collection for the first time on the second day of PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2013.
Monisha's collection was intended to evoke those childhood dreams of a romantic fairytale and to capture that mood that makes a bride feel beautiful and special. Her elegant collection included silhouettes, softly sculpted silks, luxurious velvet and fitted French lace. In addition to that, beaded bodices paired with 'Handsome Prince' sherwani's; leggings and jewels exuded the old world glamour, with a hint of bohemian beauty.
Moreover, the collection displayed evening wear, lingerie inspired gowns representing strong, sexy and quintessentially feminine. Monisha's eye catching aesthetics were especially for a modern bride who appreciates romantic detailing on a relaxed silhouette.
"I believe that there is new era in bridal fashion at the moment, it's all about individual and personal style, mixing old with the new, masculine with feminine, sport with glamour basically there are no rules...I have always believed that fashion can be bought but style is in your DNA," said Monisha on her collection.
Indian bridal wear is considered incomplete without lehengas, and Jaising with her collection made sure she catered to that segment as well, with showstopper Miss Universe Canada 2012 Sahar Biniaz flaunting a sand-coloured number.
Jaising's range of lehengas used bright and elegant colours like lime green, flourescent coral, burgundy, navy blue. As she shifted from gowns to Indian wear, the background music also complemented her collections with ethnic fusion tunes.
