Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has suspended Rajasthan Royals spinner Harmeet Singh pending an enquiry into his role in the IPL 2013 spot-fixing case on Saturday.
BCCI's Anti-Corruption Unit Chief Ravi Sawani had a long talk with Harmeet today in Mumbai. He was given a show-cause notice.
According to police officials, bookies tried to contact Harmeet and presented him gifts to indulge him into fixing but he did not act accordingly.
It seems he was reached through Ajit Chandila.
Not informing BCCI about any illegal offers or approaches by bookies and others also comes under Article 2.4.3 of Anti-Corruption Code of BCCI. As Harmeet didn't informed about the incident to BCCI he may face some actions.
He had previously recorded his statement in a court with Delhi Police.
Harmeet Singh had been part of U-19 World Cup winning team.
