The speculations were high for both the team before the match of Mumbai Indians and Royal Challanger Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium Thrusday night and the expectations were totally met for the spectators with a last ball match when Royal Challenger Bangalore defeated Mumbai Indians.
And again it was a one man show of Chris Gayle who was unstoppable and scored flourishing 92 from just 58 balls that included 11 fours and 5 sixes.
Skipper Ricky Ponting won the toss and elected to field. The decision seemed right as Mumbai Indians got early breakthrough until Chris Gayle took the entire charge to him and showed some extraordinary cricket to take RCB to 156 in 20 overs.
In return, Mumbai Indian got a good start from a legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting as openers but the team failed to convert it into a win and could manage only156/5 in 20.0 overs. From the Mumbai Indians side wicket keeper Dinesh Karthik made 60 runs in 37 balls.
Mumbai Indians needed 10 runs on the last over but lost two wickets to Vinay Kumar in the last over and lost.
