Former Pakistani president and military dictator Pervez Musharraf was arrested on Friday, a day after he fled away from the court complex on Thrusday after the Islamabad High Court cancelled his bail extension plea and ordered his arrest.
Musharaf was arrested by the Police from his Chak Shahzad farmhouse today, Geo News reported.
Musharraf along with his lawyers appeared before Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Abbas Shah’s court on Friday morning and requested for extension in his bail. The court first issued the order of his arrest and then pronounced the order over Musharraf’s judicial remand. The court granted two days transit remand for Musharraf.
Moreover, following the security concerns and threat to his life, a police official has appealed the court to consider his house as sub-jail.
Musharraf was convicted in a case of 2007 for sacking 60 judges during the emergency rule imposed by him during the period.
