Boxer and Olympic medalist Vijender Singh has been provided with a clean cheat by sports ministry on Tuesday after the submission of reports by National Anti-Doping Agency.
Singh was under inspection after his roommate and friend Ram Singh admitted to consume drugs with him in March when he was arrested by the Haryana Police. However, the press release issued by sports ministry said the test samples of blood of the Olympian did not show any sign of banned substances, including that of psychotropic drugs.
National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) had collected the blood and urine sample of the boxer on April 3 but did not find any trace of heroine in the blood as well as urine samples. The tests for heroin were conducted at National Dope- Testing Laboratory ( NDTL).
