Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of the 4th Test against Australia after sustaining a fracture in his left hand. He will be out of action for six weeks.
Dhawan, who hit a record breaking 187 in the 3rd Test match was declared Man of the match. It was Dhawan's maiden Test innings in Mohali.
Fourth test match is scheduled to be played in New Delhi from March 22 to March 26.
All India Senior Selection Committee first replaced Dhawan with Gautam Gambhir and brought in Suresh Raina to the squad for the fourth Test. However, Gambhir was diagnosed with jaundice after undergoing a blood test earlier on Tuesday. He will not take part in the 4th match.
Ajinkya Rahane is most likely to replace Dhawan as an opener while Raina might have to sit out, as a change is unlikely to be made in the middle-order.
India leads the ongoing Border-Gavaskar trophy by 3-0.
Team announced for the fourth test match is as follows:
Manhendra Singh Dhoni (Captain), Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ajinkya Rahane, Ashok Dinda, Suresh Raina, and Ishant Sharma.
